How we use the details you send us through this website.
This policy explains how Semiskimmed Plastering ("we", "us"), owned by Andrew Painter, uses the personal information you give us through this website.
What we collect
When you send the quote form, we collect your name, email address, phone number, the kind of work you're interested in, your postcode and your message, along with basic technical details (your browser type and a scrambled form of your IP address) that help us block spam.
How we use it
We use your details to reply to your enquiry, arrange a visit, give you a quote and carry out any work you ask us to do. We don't use them for marketing or automated decisions, and we never sell them.
Where it's kept
The quote form is run for us by our website provider, Project Forward. Your enquiry is emailed to us, and a copy is stored securely on Google Firebase, part of Google Cloud. We keep enquiries only as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any work, and to meet legal and accounting requirements.
Other services
This website is hosted by Cloudflare, which may process technical data such as your IP address to deliver and protect the site.
Videos. Our job videos are on YouTube, which is owned by Google. Nothing is loaded from YouTube until you press play on one of our videos. When you do, the video plays in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), and YouTube may then set cookies or store data on your device and collect details such as your IP address and how you watch the video, as described in Google's privacy policy. The links to our YouTube channel, TrustATrader, Facebook and Instagram take you to those sites, which have their own privacy policies.
Cookies
This website doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. YouTube may set its own cookies, but only after you press play on one of our videos (see Videos above).
Taps on our phone numbers. When you tap one of our phone numbers on this website, the site counts the tap so we can see how many people ring us from it. The count notes only the page, where on the page the number was, which of our numbers it was and whether you were on a phone or a computer. It doesn't use cookies or store anything on your device, and it doesn't record who you are or your IP address. If your browser sends a "do not track" or Global Privacy Control signal, the tap isn't counted. Our website provider, Project Forward, keeps the counts on Google Firebase for up to 12 months.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by contacting us. If you're unhappy with how we've handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
